Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and monno (“monno”, “we”) governing your use of the monno website and the monno organizer platform (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you accept them.
1. Accounts
You need an account to organize events or access certain features. You must give accurate information, keep your password secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are for people who can form a binding contract in their jurisdiction.
There are two kinds of user. Ticket buyers purchase tickets and manage their orders. Organizers belong to a team, publish event pages and sell tickets. Organizers are responsible for their events and for the information they publish.
2. Events, tickets and orders
- An organizer’s event page describes their event. The organizer is responsible for its accuracy and for delivering the event.
- When you buy a ticket you enter into a contract with the organizer, not with monno. The organizer sets the price, capacity and terms.
- Refunds and cancellations are the organizer’s decision unless the law says otherwise. Where an event is cancelled or rescheduled, the organizer is responsible for refunds and notices.
- Payment is handled by the organizer’s chosen method — which may include card payment through our payment provider or offline payment (for example, pay at the door) — and is subject to that provider’s terms.
- A ticket is a personal licence to attend. The organizer may refuse entry for good reason, such as a breach of the event’s rules or a valid ID requirement.
3. Organizer responsibilities
If you organize on monno, you agree to: publish accurate event information; hold any licences and insurance your event requires; handle attendee information lawfully; honour the prices, capacity and refund terms you set; and comply with applicable consumer, tax and safety law.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, infringe others’ rights, or mislead anyone;
- publish unlawful, hateful, deceptive or infringing content;
- scrape, overload, probe or interfere with the Service or its security;
- resell tickets where the organizer or the law does not allow it;
- use the Service to send spam.
5. Content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of the content you publish and grant us a licence to host, display and distribute it so we can run the Service. The Service itself — its software, design and marks, other than open-source components under their own licences — belongs to us or our licensors.
6. Third-party services
The Service links to and relies on third parties (for example, our payment and email providers). Their terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for third-party services.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties and do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We do not control and are not responsible for the events organizers list.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, if we must for legal reasons, or to protect the Service or others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will make it prominent on the Service and update the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
12. Open source and licences
monno runs on Hi.Events, licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License version 3 (AGPL-3.0). The AGPL applies to that software and to our modifications of it, including for network use.
The corresponding source of the version running here — the monno platform, a fork of Hi.Events — is published at github.com/kimjoshuadr/monno-platform. You may copy, study, modify and redistribute it under the AGPL; a copy of the licence ships with that repository.
The “Powered by Hi.Events” notice required by Section 7(b) is kept on every page and email, and its link always directs to hi.events. A commercial licence to remove the notice is available from hi.events/licensing.
